Cyclists! What do you do when you're in transit?
I wanted to do a feature on my blog about this.... At a push I'd have to compare my cycle journeys to being in the shower: I'll finish off conversations with witty come-backs I didn't have at the time, hum or sing to myself (and sometimes make up songs too, not that I'm much of a composer!), relive past embarrassments, plan my day/shopping/etc.... It's an opportunity for me to catch up with myself. I rarely listen to music, mostly because I constantly use my hearing to stay aware of what's going on around me.

I was curious as to how other people use their cycle time - do you listen to music? catch up on calls (hands-free of course!)?

Please let me know if you'd rather your comment were not used for Furs, Flowers and Lace cycle across London. Even so, please respond anyway as I would love to know!

I look into people's gardens to admire the flowers -- and see how many cats I can spot each day! More of them on clear crisp mornings, since they don't mind the cold, and on the rainy days the few who are out are huddled on doorsteps.

Hi there!
When I'm on the bike, it's a 50/50. 50% of the time I'm finishing thoughts that have been running through my mind (usually with a song that's stuck in my head for the past few days). The other 50% I'm noticing how different and nice the area I live in looks from the seat of a bicycle as compared to in a car. I notice things I've never seen before and probably wouldn't be able to if I was commuting by car (the pelican flying parallel to the bridge I'm on), the sound of the water as I pass...noting a little pathway through the woods that I never noticed before and want to check out later. How the wind feels on my face or the sun, etc.
My bike is my zen time. I love it and need it in order to feel ..sane..throughout my busy hectic life.
